I thought it was about time I updated my blog with where we are at on our play-based journey. I feel like things are ticking along well now and it has been so heartwarming to see the rest of the junior school also embrace self-directed play. 💓 What is even better is that the seniors are also embracing more playful approaches and playing around with invitations within inquiry. Mantle of the expert is a wonderful flow on from play, but it is great to see that play is able to also continue. Outside classroom day has really sped up this process and our environment has certainly become play on steroids. I really recommend Outdoor Classroom Day as a way into play, it can be a very good way for teachers to see how children are able to self-direct with no help from them.
